More Steve McNair News…Who Cares?

We've been provided with more unnecessary details in the death of Steve McNair.

Over the past fews days, more insight into Steve McNair’s last living hours have been revealed.  Phone records have been recovered, giving us all access to the text messages that he exchanged with the woman accused of his murder, Sahel Kazemi.

For those living on another planet, the story goes something like this:

Former NFL quarterback McNair, a married man with four children, is playing the field and has (at least) two girlfriends.  One of them, Kazemi, becomes financially stressed as well as emotionally stressed about the state of her relationship with the ex-Tennessee Titan.  She makes a handgun purchase.  She texts McNair continuously one day - wrecked with emotion over her life problems - and practically begs him to meet up with her.  Steve acknowledges that he will meet her later that day.  He does, and becomes the victim of an emotional murder-suicide at the hands of Kazemi.

With all that we now know about McNair, this photo takes on a whole different meaning.

With all that we now know about McNair, this photo takes on a whole different meaning.

Along with the outpouring of sympathy from a nation of fans, came the ugly truth about McNair’s personal life.  In the Nashville community, he had a reputation as a player.  And after that discovery, our moral fiber took control and wondered how he could be so careless with a wife and four kids at home.  In that case, who were the real victims?

So, it seemed that every bit of detail had been drained from that sad state of events.  But now news outlets are refreshing the incident in everyone’s mind by releasing text messages between Kazemi and McNair.

Do we really need to know what they texted to each other on that day?  I didn’t know them personally, but I have a pretty good idea of what was communicated between the two of them.

Regarding any updates or additional information on the case, I can truly say…

“No thanks.”
