Now that the Niners have proven that they don't need him to be successful, guess who agreed to a deal?
News just broke today that Texas Tech superstar wide receiver has finally signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
The agreement by both sides ended months of Crabtree holding out. At this time, the financial aspects of the contract has not been released. Crabtree was asking for at least $23 million in guaranteed money (which is what the highest drafted receiver, Darius Heyward-Bey, was given), and the 49ers’ best offer came in around $16 million.
Now that Crabtree has been signed, he is eligible to be on the football field as early as this Sunday. What remains to be seen is how the team with integrate him into its offensive rotation and scheme. San Francisco have been a surprise, starting this season with a 3-1 record. Their one loss came against the Minnesota Vikings on a last second TD pass in the back of the endzone by Brett Favre.
