Shaq: Post Basketball Options??

With his endearing personality, Shaq will certainly find a way to keep himself relevant.

The humorous styling of O'Neal are legendary.

Shaquille O’Neal.  The name stands alone in terms of not only uniqueness, but also a standard of accomplishment in the National Basketball Association.

Now, we get to officially celebrate O’Neal’s departure from the NBA.  Of course, we could argue that this really happened unofficially about 6 years ago when injuries prevented him from being a consistent performer.

But for all intents and purposes, O’Neal’s basketball legacy had been set.  And we’ve all become appreciative of the light-hearted, fun-loving attitude that he exudes to the public.  With that in mind…I’ve come up with a list of ways that the big fella could keep his name in the media:

The humorous styling of O'Neal are legendary.

1. Shaq could become part of the esteemed class of seven-foot-tall wrestlers in the WWE.  Shaq-a-licious, Shaq-nificent, Shaq-tastic…the list of potential monikers goes on and on…

2. The Big Aristotle could make a series of Kazaam movies.  Now I haven’t seen the movie, but I’ve only heard good reviews about it (eh hem).

3. He could be the biggest cop in history.  I would have never imagined that Miami Vice and Shaquille O’Neal would even be mentioned in the same sentence.

4. Shaq and MMA?  He’d definitely have the reach advantage on most opponents…although that wouldn’t be the case against the guy that he’s calling out.

5. How would the Daddy fare as a lyrical assassin?  I’m sure that Kobe remembers how his @$$ tastes…

Ah…with the many talents that O’Neal has, I’m positive that he has even more options than these.

There’s been lots of light-hearted banter on the set of TNT’s “Inside the NBA” regarding Shaq joining forces with Kenny, Charles and E.J.  In actuality, Shaq said that he was coming after Kenny’s job.  If that happened, the network might have to find a way to keep that show on the air even in the offseason.

In any sense, I don’t get the feeling that Shaq will be devoid of media attention.

Here’s to a great career, and a hunch that O’Neal will be the most active, non-active NBA player ever.
