RJ: The Six-Figure Break-Up Man

Richard Jefferson is one of the hardest-working players in the NBA.  He diligently plays both sides of the ball, and contributes the little things that can put a team over the top.  RJ has an explosive, All-Star caliber game.  You can always tell that he’s giving something close to a maximum effort night in and night out – which is indeed a rarity for someone with his degree of talent.  He’s a guy who is low-maintenance, and puts up above average numbers, and manages to do it while flying under the radar.

Jefferson slam dunked Nichols through email.

While he has worked to build a low-profile, respectable character, leave it to Jefferson to bring some much-needed attention to himself.  Jefferson didn’t show up at his wedding ceremony last weekend – leaving his fiance @$$ out.  The more interesting piece of this is that Jefferson gave his ex-fiance, former New Jersey Net dancer Kesha Ni’Cole Nichols the news of their break-up via email.  But due to the unusual circumstances of his break-up method, he felt guilty enough to give Nichols “a six-figure settlement.”

I don’t have much of an opinion about this one way or another, but when comparing him mug with hers – - well, I think he should have been paying her just to hold her hand in public.

He won’t be scoring 20 points per game any more.  The Spurs are too well-balanced and he won’t be on the highlight reels.  So, he won’t be getting any ladies from being a superstar.

Also, now that he’s in San Antonio – one of the fattest cities in America - his wifey prospects might not get any fitter.  And there’s no way that two ugly guys on the same team are going to land two dime pieces.  The odds just aren’t in his favor.

On the fip side – ladies, I’m sure that you can all form a line to date Jefferson and let him break up with you by email.  Just make sure that you tell him where to send the check.
