After a half-court jumper (say what?) by LeMVP, the Cleveland Cavaliers are leading the Hawks 59-35 at halftime.
It’s not by happenstance that I haven’t written about the Cavs. It’s because they are absolutely giving me nothing to write about. No drama whatsoever in their games. They are slaughtering their competition (or lack thereof) up to this point in the playoffs.
Everything has been clicking for them. Defensively. Offensively. They are getting a really good warm-up for the other elite teams – i.e. Boston, Orlando, L.A. (perhaps you could add Houston and Denver to that list as well).
If I was another team in the playoffs, I would definitely want to avoid the Cavs right now. Obviously, the biggest test for them (so far) is going to come when they go to Atlanta. But it is also going to be a big test for the Hawks – playing an elite team at home when they will be in desperate need of a win.
