LeBron James and the Cavs took care of business on Sunday afternoon.

Celtics 118, Bulls 121 (2 OT):

What a game!  This game was a double-overtime thriller.  Big shots from both teams.  Lots of mistakes by both teams, too.  But this series is all about the guards.  Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen versus Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon.  These are the guys whose play has been consistent.  With the exception of Game 3 – it’s almost like whoever has the last shot is going to have the last laugh.  The Celtics still have the home court on their side -and as it turns out that may be what wins this series for them.

Cavaliers 99, Pistons 78:

Hats off to Cleveland…they did exactly what a No.1-seeded team with championship aspirations should do to their first-round opponent – they swept them.  Probable MVP LeBron James dominated with 36 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists as the Cavs dusted off the Pistons in Game 4 of their first round series.

Detroit looked like a team that was defeated from Game 1.  They don’t have anyone that can come close to matching LBJ’s combination of strength and speed.  And they didn’t have nearly enough scoring punch with Allen Iverson out for the remainder of the season.  Great job by the Cavaliers for not letting this inferior team win a game.

Magic 84, 76ers 81:

Although there were only 165 points scored amongst both clubs, this game saw a total of 11 players score in double figures.  The game came down to Hedo Turkoglu nailing a 3-pointer with 0.9 seconds left on the game clock.  Andre Iguodala missed a desperation 3-pointer in an attempt to tie the game and force overtime.

Even though the Magic have regained their home court advantage, the Sixers have proven that they will stay competitive, regardless of the location.

Blazers at Rockets – in progress (Blazers up 70-64 after 3 quarters):

If the Blazers can hold on and pull this one out, then maybe – just maybe – the Rockets’ first round failures aren’t about TMac after all.  Travis Outlaw is making the difference in this game for Portland…but I’m sure the Rockets will have a run in them.  This game is in Houston you know…
