Pistons Need to Give Stuckey More Attention

Stuckey is averaging 17 points and 5 dimes per contest in the 2009-10 season.

Opponents are often frightened when they come into the Quicken Loans Arena because they are faced with the proposition of having to control reigning league MVP LeBron James.

But there was a scary scene last night in Cleveland.

Amid the Detroit Pistons’ 92-99 loss to the Cavaliers, Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey collapsed on the sidelines during a time-out.  Stuckey was walking towards the bench when he complained of dizziness and began motioning for Arnie Kander, Detroit’s strength and conditioning coach.  Rodney was trembling when he collapsed in Kander’s arms.  But contrary to many reports, the Pistons stated that he never lost consciousness or experienced a seizure.

Stuckey spent the night in the Cleveland Clinic, undergoing medical tests…all of which he passed.

It should be noted that a similar incident happened to Stuckey last season.  He experienced dizziness and had to be assisted off the hardwood (once again by Kander).  Stuckey underwent these customary “medical testing”, after which he was cleared to play.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Detroit owes it to this young player to help him discover what is ailing him.

I don’t think any of us would want to witness this scenario again – or something far worse – in the future.
