LeBron is “Taking Mental Notes”

LeBron's "Decision" generated lots of backlash from sports columnists, analysts and fans.

Apparently, LeBron James wants to let us know that he has morphed into Santa Claus.

The two-time NBA MVP, who recently opened up a Twitter account, left a message for those who were being naughty in their analysis of this summer’s madness:

Don’t think for one min that I haven’t been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!

While LeBron certainly brought a lot of hatred upon himself by the manner in which he orchestrated the circus, he definitely has a right to his feelings.  James is a guy who always smiles for the camera, hasn’t been in any trouble with the law, stays involved with numerous charitable events, honors his contractual obligations, and is genuinely liked by his teammates.

Will Wade and Bosh be up to the task of helping LeBron obtain revenge on his critics?

Yet despite all of the above, one decision to take less money for a better chance to win and play alongside his friends has garnered the malice of one entire city and state, as well as fans – casual and die-hard – across the globe.

I’m not quite sure what we’re designed to extract from LBJ’s tweet.  After all, his biggest critics have been in the media – and he cannot easily obtain revenge on those types.

Perhaps when Miami wins a title, LeBron will pull a folded up piece of paper from inside his sweaty socks, and read down the list of the people who he’d like to thank for his motivation.

In other words, the people who can kiss his @–.
