LeBron James turned his game up a notch and led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 121-98 win over the Chicago Bulls, giving Cleveland a decisive 3-1 edge in the series.
James, the probably 2009-10 NBA MVP, recorded a triple-double with 37 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. King James was 11-17 from the field, including a sensational 6-9 performance from behind the three-point arc.
The Cavaliers received 24 points from late-season acquisition Antawn Jamison, and guard Mo Williams added three triples on his way to 19 points. Cleveland blew the contest open in the middle quarters, outscoring Chicago 75-55 in the second and third. It was total domination by the Cavs. They outshot Chicago 52% to 37%, and connected on 12 treys while the Bulls only hit four.
After a win like this, can they Bulls have any confidence that they will survive Game 5 in Cleveland? Today’s rout was a carry-over from Game 3. In that game, the Bulls jumped out to a huge lead (at one point it was 21 points), only to see Cleveland almost steal that game away from them.
I think LeBron realized that it was time to drop the hammer, and that’s exactly what his did this afternoon.
