Hey Kobe – Get Your Lakers Ready for Game 5

Kevin Durant and the Thunder are attacking the rim with no mercy tonight.

We’re approaching the end of the 3rd quarter in Game 4 of the Lakers-Thunder series.  And the Lakers are getting roasted, 86-64.

They’re going to concede this one and rest Kobe.

Oklahoma City is young and hungry…and on their way to tying up the series 2-2 against the defending NBA champions.

How are they doing it?

They are doing it they way they did it in the regular season.  They are playing tough defense.  The Thunder are playing with an extreme height disadvantage inside, but they are compensating with their foot speed.  OKC is able to beat L.A.’s older players to spots on the floor.

On offense, they are also using their speed.  Kevin Durant is using a lightning quick first step, and then turning on the speed to get to his sweet spots on the floor.  Russell Westbrook is slicing up Derek Fisher, Jordan Farmar…whoever is trying to stay in front of him.  James Harden and Eric Maynor are providing great support off the bench.  They’re taking it hard to the hole, and have a huge free throw advantage over L.A.

The Thunder have proven that they are a threat…at home.  As good as they’ve been, they’ll have to refocus for a tough battle in L.A. for Game 5.

One bright spot for Los Angeles?  Lamar Odom seems to have a pulse.  After averaging a meager 6 points and 6 rebounds per game in this series, Odom is in double figures and has shown the ability to get his own shot.  He’ll need to do that as the series continues.
