Denard Span to Mom: “Don’t Test Me”

Denard Span displayed plenty of concern after Wednesday's scary moment.
How talented are major league baseball players? Talented enough to hit pitched baseballs in the direction of someone that they don’t like?
Maybe not that talented. But it makes you wonder if Minnesota Twins center fielder Denard Span was trying to send a message to his mom along the lines of – “I got mad skills at the plate…so, don’t test me…”
In actuality, Span was very distraught on Wednesday afternoon after he hit a foul ball that struck his motherin her chest. Span ran into the crowd to ensure that she was alright. Denard’s mother, Wanda Wilson, was treated by parametics in the stands and the Twins reported that she was sore, but otherwise OK.
The incident left the Minnesota leadoff man a bit shaken, as he departed the game in the third inning. He and his mother departed from the game together.
Denard is very close to his mother as evidenced in this video where he described her as being the stimulator of his faith.
