The commandments of getting good seats at a major league baseball game are as follows:

- Thou shalt not stand up for more than one minute at a time thereby obstructing the view of fans behind you.

- Thou shalt refrain from hurling objects (i.e. beer, cups, bottles, paper wrappers) at ball players…even the ones who are universally despised.

- If the instance that the patron has first row seats, that shalt not interfere with any ball that will negatively impact the chances of a victory for the home team.

And finally:

- Thou shalt never, ever bail out on a baseball that is headed toward them.  Particularly, if thou is a man and he is seated next to his girlfriend.

Naturally, the offender appears to be less than interested in being interviewed – and being called a “chicken.”  If there’s one thing that he did handle well in this situation, it was the interviewer’s attempts to pour a little extra salt in his wounds.

I’ll give him a little bit of credit for having the “ball in the lights” excuse ready, especially given the fact that major league ballplayers have been made to look foolish as well from time to time.

But there’s no doubt that he’ll forever be remembered for forgetting that he had a date…and for looking scared to death.  Most people get those type of seats to leave the game with souvenirs, and not to play dodgeball.
