Mayweather and Mosley Hyping Up the Fight

Beating Mayweather would provide another signature win for the veteran Mosley.
With the WBA Welterweight Title on the line, we should all be in for a treat on May 1. On that date, WBA Welterweight Super Champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley (46-5-1, 39 KOs) will defend his title against undefeated, six-time world champion “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather (40-0-0, 25 KOs).
In case you missed it, there was some commotion at the conclusion of the Mayweather-Marquez bout:
It’s actually pretty amazing that Mosley and Mayweather haven’t squared off yet. This will indeed be a tough fight between two of the better boxers in the game today.
A glance at the records indicates some blemishes on Sugar’s behalf. But losses to Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright are nothing to slouch at – each are tough opponents who were able to get splits decisions in their favor. Mosley’s other loss came at the hands of Miguel Cotto – a loss in which Mosley connected on more power punches at a higher percentage.
Mosely has dusted off Ricardo Mayorga and Antonio Margarito since then (both by KO), so he comes confidently into this fight on a mild winning streak.
There was lots of verbal jabbing by the fighters up to this point:
Shane Mosley:
(Back in early 2009):“Floyd, quit running. Stop running. Stop saying that, oh, you know, I’m not a pay-per-view attraction, or this or that. I’ve been fighting longer than you. I’ve been making money longer than you. That’s probably why you’re coming back to the sport right now is because you need money, you lost your money, now you had to come back and get some more money. We can make money togther, alright? So let’s do it.”
(Recent): “It’s been a long time since I got a chance to show the world that I’m the best fighter, and that’s all that I really want, to be the best. I’m going to take my hat off to Mayweather, because I didn’t think I was ever going to get a fight from any of these top fighters. He said, ‘Yeah man, I’ll take that challenge. I’ll fight you.”‘
“I can’t say how many fights Shane has won in the past because we know Shane was using enhancement drugs. That’s something we do know. It’s no different than Pacquiao. I offered Pacquiao the fight. I said, ‘We’ll give you $25 million.’ I never met a man who wouldn’t take a $25 million drug test.”
So naturally, on Tuesday, the boxers were a little anxious to get things started:
Anyway you slice it, May 1 should be one of the biggest days that boxing has seen in quite some time.

Mayweather's defense and counter punching abilities make him the easy winner over Mosley. Mosley loves to just come in and throw as many punches as he can, leaving him vulnerable to counter shots. I say Mayweather gets the unanimous decision on this one
